Robin van Persie (born 6 August 1983 in Rotterdam) is a Dutch footballer who plays in the English Premier League club Arsenal FC and the Dutch national team. The son of two artists, was Van Persie encouraged to contact his parents footsteps, but he preferred, rather than football and joined SBV Excelsior Youth team in 2001. He made his breakthrough with his hometown club Feyenoord, where he three seasons and won the 2002 UEFA Cup.
